Relationships and PTSD

Unfortunately, PTSD is an extremely common condition in men and women serving in the military. These men and women can suffer for years after they've returned from war, and feel hopeless and helpless in their fight. However, it does not have to be that way.  Please visit this article published by the U.S Department of Veterans Affairs. It outlines different kinds of traumas the military member may have experienced, and how family and friends can help. Our veterans are heroes, and they deserve help and support upon returning home. While we may not understand fully the trauma they may have suffered, we can still do all that we can to make the transition back to civilian life as smooth as possible.

  1. I come from an all-military family and have seen PTSD in 2 family members. It is hard to deal with, even being an outsider to it.

  2. This is important to talk about as many people deal with it silently. I have several family members affected by PTSD and they need special care, but it doesn't make them any less of a human being.
